Setting Up Sub-Domains

Subdomains, such as "subdomain.example.com" or "www.example.com," are extensions of a root domain, which represents the core URL, such as "example.com." Sub-domains structure and segment content, making it easier to manage different areas of a website.

Step 1: Create a New Domain

Access Domain Settings: Navigate to Settings from the left menu on your platform, then select Domains from the Settings submenu.

Add Domain: Click the option to Add a New Domain within the modal.

Input Subdomain URL: Enter your subdomain URL in the provided field.

If you are adding a www subdomain, you can also add the root domain by toggling the option.

Step 2: Create a DNS Record

Access DNS Management: If the DNS records were not automatically linked to your domain, log in to your domain registrar (e.g., Namecheap) and navigate to the DNS Management page for your domain.

Add or Edit "CNAME" Record:

  • Create a new record by clicking Add, selecting “CNAME” as the record type, using the subdomain prefix as the host, and entering “sites.ludicrous.cloud” in the “Points To” field.

  • Set the TTL to 30 minutes for quicker propagation.

Initiate Record Verification: Select the "Verify Records" button within the CRM to begin the verification process. Please allow up to 10 minutes for this to be completed.

Step 3: Select the Funnel or Website

To connect the subdomain with a funnel or website, select the appropriate option from the dropdown menu and designate the default page for the subdomain. If the initial attempts fail, allow time for propagation. A success message will confirm when the subdomain is ready.

From the dropdown menu, select the funnel or website you want to associate with the subdomain and the default funnel or website step.

Step 4: Set the Site's 404/ Error Page

Optionally, you may expand the additional options section and select the desired page to be displayed as your error page from the dropdown menu.

Finalize the process by clicking "Link Domain".

With these steps completed, your site will be live and accessible via your subdomain!
